PR 21-563, District of Columbia Retirement Board Joseph M. Bress Reappointment Resolution of 2016

Council Chairman Phil Mendelson announces a public roundtable before the Committee of the Whole on PR 21-563, the “District of Columbia Retirement Board Joseph M. Bress Reappointment Resolution of 2016.” The roundtable will be held at 3:00 p.m. (or immediately following the preceding oversight hearing) on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 in room 412 of the John A. Wilson Building.

The stated purpose of PR 21-563 is to confirm the Council’s reappointment of Joseph Bress as a member of the District of Columbia Retirement Board (“DCRB”). DCRB is an independent agency of the District of Columbia government with the exclusive authority to manage the pension funds of the D.C. Police Officers and Firefighters’ Retirement Fund and the Teachers’ Retirement Fund. DCRB is also the benefits administrator for the plans associated with each fund. Mr. Bress’s current term expired on January 27, 2016. He is currently serving in a holdover capacity.

Those who wish to testify are asked to email the Committee of the Whole at, or call Evan Cash, Committee Director at (202) 724-8196, and to provide your name, address, telephone number, organizational affiliation and title (if any) by 9:00 a.m. Monday, March 7, 2016. Persons wishing to testify are encouraged, but not required, to submit 15 copies of written testimony. If submitted by the 9:00 a.m. on March 7, 2016 the testimony will be distributed to Councilmembers before the hearing. Witnesses should limit their testimony to four minutes; less time will be allowed if there are a large number of witnesses.
