               This is to request that the following measures be placed on the agenda for the January 7, 2020 Legislative Meeting:

 

§  Alethia Tanner Park Designation Emergency Declaration Resolution of 2020

§  Alethia Tanner Park Designation Emergency Act of 2020

 

               The purpose of the designation is to officially designate the park located in Square 3581, Lots 16 and Lot 809 as Alethia Tanner Park.  Permanent legislation to effect the designation was marked up by the Committee of the Whole on December 17, 2019 and is scheduled for first reading on January 7, 2020.  Enacting the legislation on an emergency basis will make the provisions of Bill 23-172 effective sooner than Congressional review and allow for the installation and dedication of the new park in January 2020.
