MEMORANDUM

RE:                        Emergency Legislation for the July 21, 2020 Legislative Meeting

 

                This memorandum serves as notice that I intend to move the following measures at the July 21, 2020 additional legislative meeting:

 

§  PR 23-822, “Fiscal Year 2021 Local Budget Emergency Declaration Resolution of 2020”

§  Bill 23-766, ” Fiscal Year 2021 Local Budget Emergency Act of 2020″

 

                The measures listed above were introduced at the request of the Mayor on May 29, 2020 as part of the Fiscal Year 2021 budget package.  Because of the submission of the FY21 budget in mid-May rather than March (as in previous years), emergency legislation is necessary to ensure we have an approved budget and financial plan in place for the start of the FY21 fiscal year on October 1, 2020.

 

                Please note that I intend to move an Amendment in the Nature of a Substitute (ANS) for each of these items at next week’s meeting; the ANS versions will circulate on Monday, July 20, 2020.
