RE:          Congressional Review Emergency Measures for the April 6, 2021 Legislative Meeting

 

This memo is to request that the following measures be placed on the agenda for the April 6, 2021 Legislative Meeting:

 

§  Non-Public Student Educational Continuity Congressional Review Emergency Declaration Resolution of 2021

§  Non-Public Student Educational Continuity Congressional Review Emergency Amendment Act of 2021

 

            D.C. Act 24-9, the Non-Public Student Educational Continuity Emergency Amendment Act of 2021, will expire May 1, 2021.  Although identical temporary legislation was approved by the Council in December (D.C. Act 24-27), its congressional review is pending.  A congressional review emergency is necessary to prevent a gap in legislative authority.
