RE:           Request to Agendize Emergency Measures for the June 29, 2021 Legislative Meeting

 

The following measures are placed on the agenda for the July 13, 2021 Legislative Meeting:

 

§  Modification No. 5 to Contract No. DCAM-20-CS-RFP-0015 with Gilbane Building Company Approval and Payment Authorization Emergency Declaration Resolution of 2021

§  Modification No. 5 to Contract No. DCAM-20-CS-RFP-0015 with Gilbane Building Company Approval and Payment Authorization Emergency Act of 2021

 

            This measure, at the request of the Mayor, would approve a contract for over $1 million for renovations to School within a School at Goding Elementary School which serves Pre-Kindergarten through grade 5.  The SWS facility consists of the Anne Goding building, a five-story academic block, consisting of a multipurpose room and cafeteria space built in 1958. The facility shares outdoor space with the Sherwood Recreation Center on the adjacent property.

 

            The contract will fund construction services by Gilbane Building Company to renovate and modernize School within a School.  The underlying contract was approved by the Council on December 19, 2020.  The modification proposed in these bills would increase the contract amount by $42.7 million.  The contract must be actively approved by the Council due to the upcoming Council recess that will preclude passive contract approvals being transmitted to the Council.
