RE:           Request to Agendize Emergency Measures for the November 2, 2021 Legislative Meeting

 

Please place the following measures on the agenda for the November 2, 2021 Legislative Meeting:

 

§  Fiscal Year 2022 Budget Support Congressional Review Emergency Declaration Resolution of 2021

§  Fiscal Year 2022 Budget Support Congressional Review Emergency Amendment Act of 2021

 

            Bill 24-373, the “Fiscal Year 2022 Budget Support Emergency Act of 2021” was adopted by the Council on August 10, 2021 (D.C. Act 24-159) and expires on November 21, 2021.  Bill 24-285, the “Fiscal Year 2022 Budget Support Act of 2021” was adopted on second reading by the Council on August 10, 2021 (D.C. Act 24-176).  However, the permanent act has not yet completed its 30-day congressional review period, projected for December 2, 2021.  A congressional review emergency act is necessary to prevent a gap in the law.
