RE:                     Request to Place Congressional Review Emergency Measures on the Agenda for the February 1, 2022 Legislative Meeting

I request that the following measures be placed on the agenda for the February 1, 2022 legislative meeting:

§  Protecting Our Children Congressional Review Emergency Declaration Resolution of 2022

§  Protecting Our Children Congressional Review Emergency Amendment Act of 2022

D.C. Act 24-190, the Protecting Our Children Emergency Amendment Act of 2021, expired January 24, 2022.  It was adopted by the Council last October 5th.  Although identical temporary legislation was approved by the Council (D.C. Act 24-241), its congressional review is pending.  A congressional review emergency is necessary to prevent a gap in legislative authority.
