              I request that the following measures be placed on the agenda for the February 1, 2022 legislative meeting:

 

§  Protecting Our Children Congressional Review Emergency Declaration Resolution of 2022

§  Protecting Our Children Congressional Review Emergency Amendment Act of 2022

             

D.C. Act 24-190, the Protecting Our Children Emergency Amendment Act of 2021, expired January 24, 2022.  It was adopted by the Council last October 5^th.  Although identical temporary legislation was approved by the Council (D.C. Act 24-241), its congressional review is pending.  A congressional review emergency is necessary to prevent a gap in legislative authority.
