RE:                       Request to Place Measures on the Agenda for October 18, 2022 Legislative Meeting

In the event an Additional Legislative Meeting is scheduled for October 18, 2022, the following measures are placed on the agenda:

  • Contract No. CW99927 with Amerihealth Caritas District of Columbia, Inc. Emergency Declaration Resolution of 2022
  • Contract No. CW99927 with Amerihealth Caritas District of Columbia, Inc. Emergency Declaration Resolution of 2022
  • Contract No. CW99929 with Amerigroup District of Columbia, Inc. Emergency Declaration Resolution of 2022
  • Contract No. CW99929 with Amerigroup District of Columbia, Inc. Emergency Approval Resolution of 2022
  • Contract No. CW99931 with Medstar Family Choice, Inc. DBA MedStar Family Choice-District of Columbia Emergency Declaration Resolution of 2022
  • Contract No. CW99931 with Medstar Family Choice, Inc. DBA MedStar Family Choice-District of Columbia Emergency Approval Resolution of 2022

These measures, filed at the request of the Mayor, would approve contracts with Amerihealth Caritas District of Columbia, Inc., Amerigroup District of Columbia, Inc., and Medstar Family Choice, Inc. DBA MedStar Family Choice-District of Columbia to provide healthcare and pharmacy services for their managed care programs. These contracts will also provide mental health services for the first time. The terms of each of the three contracts will run from February 1, 2023 through January 31, 2028.

The Council has been waiting for these contracts since June, but the Executive waited until all challenges were resolved by the Contract Appeals Board. Approval this Tuesday will enable the long-awaited transition to begin as soon as possible.
