RE:                  Emergency Legislation for the September 17, 2024 Legislative Meeting

 

            The following measures are placed on the agenda for the September 17, 2024 Additional Legislative Meeting:

 

• Fiscal Year 2025 Budget Support Congressional Review Emergency Declaration Resolution of 2024
• Fiscal Year 2025 Budget Support Congressional Review Emergency Act of 2024

 

D.C. Act 25-172, the Fiscal Year 2024 Budget Support Emergency Act of 2023, will expire October 12, 2024. Although identical permanent legislation was enacted on August 9, 2024 (D.C. Act 25-550), its congressional review is pending.  Thus, a congressional review emergency is necessary to prevent a gap in the law.
