            The following measure is placed on the agenda for the September 17, 2024 Additional Legislative Meeting.

 

§  Council Period 25 Rules of Organization and Procedure and Appointment of Committee Chairpersons and Membership Amendment Resolution of 2024

 

As I indicated in August, this resolution will amend the Council Rules to eliminate the Committee on Recreation, Libraries, and Youth Affairs given ongoing legal proceedings related to Councilmember Trayon White.  The resolution moves the jurisdiction of all agencies and matters under that committee’s purview to the Committee of the Whole.  In addition, the resolution creates two subcommittees under the Committee of the Whole – the Subcommittee on Recreation and Community Affairs, chaired by Councilmember Frumin and the Subcommittee on Libraries and Youth Affairs, chaired by Councilmember Parker.  A similar reorganization was made in September 2016 when Councilmember Vincent Orange resigned from the Council on August 15, 2016.
