This memorandum is to request that the following measures be placed on the agenda for the October 4, 2022 Legislative Meeting:

 

▪            Kenilworth Courts Official Street Designation Emergency Declaration Resolution of 2022

▪        Kenilworth Courts Official Street Designation Emergency Act of 2022

 

            The purpose of the designation is to officially the street in Square 5116 between 45th Street, N.E. and Kenilworth Avenue, N.E. as Amin Muslim Street and the street in Square 5116 that connects to Quarles Street, N.E. as Denise Stanley Street.

 

            Permanent legislation implementing official designation is scheduled for final reading on October 4, 2022.  Enacting the legislation on an emergency basis will make the official designation effective sooner than congressional review and allow the Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs to issue, sooner, a certificate of occupancy for the new housing units in Kenilworth Courts.
