The following measures are placed on the agenda for the June 20, 2023 Legislative Meeting:

 

▪        Allen Y. Lew Place Designation Emergency Declaration Resolution of 2023

▪        Allen Y. Lew Place Designation Emergency Act of 2023

 

            The purpose of the designation is to officially designate Mount Vernon Place, N.W. between 7^th Street N.W. and 9^th Street, N.W., as Allen Y. Lew Place, N.W.

 

            Permanent legislation implementing this designation was adopted on final reading on June 6, 2023.  Enacting the legislation on an emergency basis will allow for the dedication in conjunction the anniversary of Mr. Lew’s passing in June while the permanent legislation is pending congressional review.
