CHAIRMAN PHIL MENDELSON ANNOUNCES A PUBLIC ROUNDTABLE

PR 20-754, Transfer of Jurisdiction Over Lot 802 in Square 4325 within Fort Lincoln New Town Emergency Approval Resolution of 2014

Council Chairman Phil Mendelson announces a public roundtable of the Committee of the Whole on PR 20-754, the “Transfer of Jurisdiction Over Lot 802 in Square 4325 within Fort Lincoln New Town Emergency Approval Resolution of 2014.” The public roundtable will be held Friday, May 30, 2014, at 12:00 p.m. in Hearing Room 412 of the John A. Wilson Building, 1350 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW.

The stated purpose of PR 20-754 is to approve the transfer of jurisdiction over 0.92 acres of real property owned by the National Park Service that is within Fort Lincoln New Town, and pledged for development therein, comprised of Lot 802 in Square 4325, from the District of Columbia, by the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development to the United States, by the Department of the Interior, National Park Service, to be assembled with abutting Urban Renewal land to create a residential development parcel.

Those who wish to testify are asked to telephone the Committee of the Whole, at (202) 724-8196, or e-mail Jessica Jacobs, Legislative Counsel, at jjacobs@dccouncil.us and provide their name, address, telephone number, and organizational affiliation, if any, by the close of business Wednesday, May 28, 2014.  Persons wishing to testify are encouraged, but not required, to submit 15 copies of written testimony.  If submitted by the close of business on May 28, 2014, the testimony will be distributed to Councilmembers before the roundtable.  Witnesses should limit their testimony to five minutes; less time will be allowed if there are a large number of witnesses.  A copy of PR 20-754 can be obtained through the Legislative Services Division of the Secretary of the Council’s office or at http://lims.dccouncil.us.

If you are unable to testify at the roundtable, written statements are encouraged and will be made a part of the official record.  Copies of written statements should be submitted to the Committee of the Whole, Council of the District of Columbia, Suite 410 of the John A. Hearing on PR20-670 (June 12)

CHAIRMAN PHIL MENDELSON ANNOUNCES A PUBLIC HEARING

PR 20-670, Sense of the Council in Support of Comprehensive Healthcare for New Hampshire’s Veterans Resolution of 2014

Council Chairman Phil Mendelson announces a public hearing of the Committee of the Whole on PR 20-670, the “Sense of the Council in Support of Comprehensive Healthcare for New Hampshire’s Veterans Resolution of 2014.”  The public hearing will be held Thursday, June 12, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. in the Council Chamber of the John A. Wilson Building, 1350 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW.

The stated purpose of PR 20-670 is to declare the sense of the Council to urge the United States Congress to fund the development and implementation of a comprehensive health care delivery system to enhance the level of specialty care for New Hampshire’s veterans.

Those who wish to testify are asked to telephone the Committee of the Whole, at (202) 724-8196, or e-mail Evan Cash, Committee Director, at ecash@dccouncil.us and provide their name, address, telephone number, and organizational affiliation, if any, by the close of business Tuesday, June 10, 2014.  Persons wishing to testify are encouraged, but not required, to submit 15 copies of written testimony.  If submitted by the close of business on June 10, 2014, the testimony will be distributed to Councilmembers before the hearing.  Witnesses should limit their testimony to five minutes; less time will be allowed if there are a large number of witnesses.  Copies of PR 20-670 can be obtained through the Legislative Services Division of the Secretary of the Council or on http://lims.dccouncil.us.

Council Chairman Phil Mendelson announces a public hearing of the Committee of the Whole on Bill 20-586, the “Historic District Neighbor Notification Act of 2013” and Bill 20-720, the “Enhanced Notice Requirements for Historic District Development Amendment Act of 2014.”  The public hearing will be held Thursday, May 29, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. in Hearing Room 412 of the John A. Wilson Building, 1350 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW.

The stated purpose of Bill 20-586 is to amend the Historic Landmark and Historic District Protection Act of 1978 (Act) to require neighbor notification of proposed alterations in a historic district which are referred to the Commission of Fine Arts for review.   The stated purpose of Bill 20-720 is to amend the Act to require stronger notice requirements for projects being undertaken in historic districts.
