The following measures are placed on the agenda for the October 15, 2024 Additional Legislative Meeting:

 

▪        Cherry Blossom Festival Grant Emergency Declaration Resolution of 2024

▪        Cherry Blossom Festival Grant Emergency Amendment Act of 2024

▪        Cherry Blossom Festival Grant Temporary Amendment Act of 2024

 

            These measures correct a typographical error in the Fiscal Year 2025 Budget Support Act.  The Council added $500,000 to the Mayor’s proposed budget of $1 million for a matching grant of $1.5 million for the National Cherry Blossom Festival.  The funds are loaded in the Non-Departmental Account.  The full amount of $1.5 million is included in section 2112(a) of the FY25 Budget Support Act, but the reference to the total amount in section 2112(b) mistakenly states $1 million. Emergency legislation is necessary to correct the Budget Support Act to allow for the transfer of the full $1.5 million to Events DC to disburse the grant to the National Cherry Blossom Festival.
