RE: Request to Place Measure on the Agenda for the July 28, 2019 Legislative Meeting

Please place on the July 28^th additional meeting agenda the following measure:

Council Period 23 Recess Rules Amendment Resolution of 2020

As in almost every year, the proposed resolution provides for certain allowances during recess. First, the resolution will authorize the Committee of the Whole to hold a hearing or joint hearing or roundtable. Second, it allows the Executive to transmit to the Council for its review during recess grant budget modifications so they may be loaded into the budget. As in years past, this will allow for the University of the District of Columbia to recognize its awarded federal grants. New this year is an allowance for any COVID-19 related federal grants to be approved during the summer recess.
