RE:          Congressional Review Emergency Measures for the April 6, 2021 Legislative Meeting

 

This memo is to request that the following measures be placed on the agenda for the April 6, 2021 Legislative Meeting:

 

§  Displaced Workers Right to Reinstatement and Retention Congressional Review Emergency Declaration Resolution of 2021

§  Displaced Workers Right to Reinstatement and Retention Congressional Review Emergency Amendment Act of 2021

 

            D.C. Act 23-605, the Displaced Workers Right to Reinstatement and Retention Emergency Amendment Act of 2020, will expire April 12, 2021.  Although identical permanent legislation was approved by the Council in December (D.C. Act 23-591), its congressional review is pending.  A congressional review emergency is necessary to prevent a gap in legislative authority.
