This memorandum is to request that the following measures be placed on the agenda for the October 4, 2022 Legislative Meeting:

 

▪        Swampoodle Terrace Designation Emergency Declaration Resolution of 2022

▪        Swampoodle Terrace Designation Emergency Act of 2022

 

            The purpose of the designation is to officially designate the park in Lots 800 and 807 in Square 748, bounded by L Street, N.E., 2nd Street, N.E., M Street, N.E., and 3rd Street, N.E. as Swampoodle Terrace.

 

            Permanent legislation implementing official designation is scheduled for final reading on October 4, 2022.  Enacting the legislation on an emergency basis will make the official designation effective sooner than congressional review and guarantee that the park signage will be installed before the park opens in October 2022.
