Amendment to Fairness in Renting Amendment Act

All,

The Chairman intends to move an amendment to the Fairness in Renting Emergency and Temporary Amendment Acts tomorrow to strike lines 48 through 60. As indicated in the rationale, this is being done because the notice requirement in the Fairness in Renting bill is inconsistent with what Council adopted in the Public Emergency Extension and Eviction and Utility Moratorium Phasing Emergency Amendment Act of 2021. Amendment to B24-382 (MCO Contract Approvals)

Attached, please find an amendment that the Chairman intends to move at tomorrow’s legislative meeting.  As indicated in the rationale, the purpose of the amendment is to make further changes to make clear what documents are being approved by the Council, and for how long.  There are no substantive changes, only further clarifications.  The rationale references a letter the Council received from the Mayor containing the updated signed option period extensions Continue Reading
