This memorandum is to request that the following measures be placed on the agenda for the January 7, 2025 Legislative Meeting:

 

▪        Cherry Blossom Festival Grant Congressional Review Emergency Declaration Resolution of 2025

▪        Cherry Blossom Festival Grant Emergency Congressional Review Emergency Amendment Act of 2025

 

D.C. Act 25-612, the Cherry Blossom Festival Grant Emergency Amendment Act of 2024, will expire January 26, 2025. Although identical temporary legislation was enacted on November 22, 2025 (D.C. Act 25-638), its congressional review is pending. Thus, a congressional review emergency is necessary to prevent a gap in the law.
