Amendment to PR24-341

Please see attached an amendment that Chairman Mendelson intends to move at tomorrow’s legislative meeting to the recess rules resolution.  The amendment is twofold:

        This amendment will allow the Redistricting Subcommittee to hold recess hearings if needed.

  • This amendment will allow the Council to consider GO/ITSB (General Obligation/Income Tax Secured) bond resolutions before the start of the new fiscal year in order to balance the capital improvements plan.  The Chief Financial Officer anticipated that the Council would adopt these resolutions at its September 21 meeting which is now cancelled due to the recess extension.  It will also allow the Council to consider resolutions pertaining to the internal operation or organization of the Council should the recess rules need further amending due to unforeseen circumstances.

Request to Place Measures on the July 13, 2021 Legislative Meeting Agenda

All-

Please see attached an updated DRAFT of what we intend to move on Tuesday.  In addition to the Eviction and Utility provisions circulated on Tuesday, this version would remove most of the triggering provisions in the Coronavirus Support Temporary Act to set a date certain rather than tying the provision to the Mayor’s declaration of a public health emergency.  The current Temporary runs through approximately February 4, 2022.  This approach would Continue Reading
