Chairman Amendments to Bill 2ill 26-659 ANS

All,

Attached are four amendments to Bill 26-659, the “Fiscal Year 2027 Local Budget Act of 2026” that the Chairman intends to move today. The amendments are:

  • Chairman Amendment #1: Funding a term FTE at the Office of Ombudsperson for Children in Fiscal Year 2027 to facilitate increased oversight of juvenile justice facilities that house youth under the care of the Department of Youth Rehabilitation Services.
  • Chairman Amendment #2: Restoring two FTEs in the Rental Accommodations Division of the Department of Housing and Community Development.
  • Chairman Amendment #3: Amending a proviso in the Local Budget Act to clarify the type of contracts for which the District is appropriating termination costs.
  • Chairman Amendment #4: Amending language in the Local Budget Act to appropriate funds and authorize spending based on increased local revenues. In Fiscal Year 2027, the amendment would direct excess revenues (remaining after refilling Fiscal Stabilization) to fund expiring federal emergency housing vouchers, ERAP, credible messengers, and the Workforce Investment Account.

Thanks,

Blaine
