RE:                          Notice of Intent to Move Amendments at the May 16, 2023 Legislative Meeting

DATE:                    May 15, 2023

I intend to move the following 3 amendments measures at the May 16, 2023 Legislative Meeting.

  • Parker Amendment #1 – Child Tax Credit
  • Parker Amendment #3 – Deed Transfer and Deed Recordation Tax Rates Sunset Extension
  • Parker Amendment #4 – Local Budget Amendment Act

The first amendment, Subtitle J to Title VII would authorize a tax credit of up to $500 for each qualifying child that a taxpayer claims as a dependent.

The third amendment would extend the sunset date of the deed recordation and transfer tax changes made in the Recordation and Transfer Taxes Amendment Act of 2019 to September 30, 2029.

The fourth amendment is the Local Budget Act which repeals the sunset provision of the deed recordation and transfer tax and funds several unfunded laws and programs.
